Triple Play " means a network that can replace three traditional networks:PSTN (Public Switching Telecommunication Network), Cable TV network and theInternet. Triple Play can provide all services of that three traditional networks canprovide.Access network is the key for implementing Triple Play. Currently the followingtechnologies are used for Access network: HFC (Hybrid Fiber/Cable Network) andxDSL (Digital Subscriber Line).To implement Triple Play, a broad bandwidth digital network with integratedservices, the only available way for our company is to reconstruct our current CableTV network. Therefore, I have done a mass of analysis and research for CATV systemof our company and current requirement, and I have detailedly demonstrated thefeasibility and minutely analysed communication system and computer network ofour company, not only on the feasibility of the technology but also about the futuremarket foreground. Our study has positive effect for the development of our company.Firstly, the reconstructed system can connects to the CATV network of theMunicipal Broadcast and TV Bureau, so twenty thousands consumers of our companycan see abundance TV program. The system can improve quality of the network,promote efficiency of maintenance and reduce the cost of maintenance. Secondly, thereconstructed system can perfectly deliver value-added services, such as data servicefor family computer, Video On Demand and distance education. It can not only meetuser requirement but also bring more benefit to our company. I have reported mystudy to leaders, and got the approval to put in practice in several street blocks nextyear. The reconstructed system can meet the basic requirement of transmittingbidirectional. Along with the development of our company, more and more serviceswill be delivered to meet the increasing demands of users.
