In order to building up a broadband network in the community, a new concept is introduced—computer networks, cable television networks and telephone communications networks triple play. The"Triple Play"is not a long history currently. A lot of Technical methods had appeared. they have their own advantages and disadvantages, But still in the exploratory stage. Using hybrid fiber/cable network (HFC) technology is a hot spot of the application of the triple play currently. The author has participated in a little design and development of triple play in intelligent community, and has chaired a design of triple play in intelligent community, having carried out the certain exploration and practice, and accumulated some practical experience and understand. This paper is to be on this foundation carries on writing. The design principle of technology program, the choice of network structure, the division strategy of business band are described in detail; The performance of the network Channel is conducted an in-depth analysis; The functional realization of the community is achieved the key analysis.This paper first briefly expounded the related foundation of the Intelligent Community and the Triple Play. Through analyzed the status of various nets, this paper described the possibility and necessity of Triple Play, and summed up the existing technical points of Triple Play. Then by analyzing the characteristics of various Access Network technology, we choice HFC network, and apply the principle of two-way HFC network in the design of the Intelligent Community. Then the design and the function of the program of the Triple Play in Intelligent Community based on HFC network have be made the detailed introduction. In the design, we followed the systems development principle of Software engineering. The district should be done in advance awareness, and make the Intelligent Community technology be in advanced position. As the feasibility test of the Triple Play in Intelligent Community based on HFC network, this paper finally gathers some plot's Triple Play as the application example. By the practice, the design has suitable apply value, and gain favourable comment.In this paper, the design of HFC-based Intelligent Community can realize such functions, as the cable TV CATV, VOD, computer network, property management, indoors anti-theft, emergent help and information searching and so on. The design not only can expand the functions of the system but also save large amount of human labor and resources.
