Study And Application On The Personal Software Process Model

PSP is a continuous self-improvement process that can be used to control, manage and improve the individual working way as well as is a structure framework including software development form, guides and rules. PSP are relatively independent with concrete technology (programming language, tool or design method), and its principles can be applied to almost any software projects. PSP model is a pyramidal model that is composed of six kinds of elements: time, plan, schedule, scale, defect and quality. It can be divided into three layers from bottom to top: Time management layer, Plan management layer and Quality Evaluation layer. Time management layer made only by time element at the bottom of the PSP model is the basic part of the PSP model emphasizing on the importance of time management and time track and stating how to use and manage time well; Plan management layer which is formed by plan, scale and schedule three elements in the intermediate layer of the PSP model is a key part of PSP model and it puts emphasis on the importance of planning, telling how to make effective plan, how to measure the scale of the project and how to scientifically manage the schedule and trace the project plan; Quality evaluation layer made up by defects and quality two elements on the top of the PSP model is the target part of the PSP model and it can let us understand the defects and quality of our task ,offer basis of judging afterwards and motility for lasting improvement of the individual software process. After PSP theory model is cut down, modified and expanded by software enterprise large-scale systematic ESSP of ERP (Enogroup Software Service Portal), it can be managed in the system successfully.
