With the rapid development of economy in china, life level and cultural need people in china has been improved rapidly. So, hot trend of capital newspaper is coming into being one after another. There are always many pages in a newspaper. That proclaims the coming of the times of "thick newspaper". At the same time, media of broadcasting and TV is on the road of channel professionalism—all kinds of new channels are existing. Hyperenormous information of "thick newspaper"and professional channel takes impact on the life style of people in china. The rapid life step of people need a kind of new media form which could combine and process all kind of information, and provide the mainstream idea. In this case, Newspaper Week exists. In April 1981, Xinhua News Agency set up a Newspaper Week ------"LiaoWang", which was the first Newspaper Week in China. Since the later of 1990s, numbers of now famous journalistic magazines were born. From "Sanlian life weekly"in 1995 to "New weekly"in 1996 and from "news weekly"in 1999 to "Liaowang Eastern weekly", Chinese Newspaper Weeks are in a stage of rapid development. Based on the study of several Chinese neonatal and known Newspaper Weekly, this paper defines the Newspaper Weekly and presents some basic characteristics firstly, and later introduces the feature and experience for success of three western major Newspaper Weeks。Furthermore, this paper reviews the developmental process and actuality, and points out the key factors to restrict the development of our country's Newspaper Weekly. Finally, aiming to the bottleneck hindering the development of Chinese Newspaper Weekly, this paper proposes some active strategies to resolve the current problems.
