Research And Application Of Material Supply Management System Orienting To ERP And SCM

The development of information technology and economic globalization has resulted in intense market competition. In order to improve competition ability, enterprises try to utilize advanced management theories and manufacturing technology to adjust management strategy. ERP and SCM theories are just such kind of advanced manufacturing management models and technology.Material supply management plays an important role in enterprise management and it has direct relations with enterprise operating and enterprise benefit. Manufacturing enterprise should utilize ERP and SCM theories reasonably to optimize material supply management, which can bring the enterprise profits and improve the competition ability.Combining ERP technology, SCM theory with the practical material supply management of Dongbei Special Steel Group Co., Ltd, the optimization of material supply management procedure, system designing and developing, and system implementation are analyzed in this paper. The main contents are as follows:(1) ERP and SCM theories are discussed, the integration of Material Supply Management Subsystem in ERP system and other subsystems are analyzed, and purchasing model and inventory controlling strategy are also presented.(2) Combining enterprise practice, the disadvantages of the traditional material supply management model of Dongbei Special Steel Group Co., Ltd. are analyzed and purchasing management and inventory management procedures are optimized based on SCM in order to solve the existing problems.(3) The integrative software frame of material supply management is presented; the software of the system is designed, developed and realized to meet the demands of material supply management of Dongbei Special Steel Group Co., Ltd.Up to now, the developed system is implemented successfully in Dongbei Special Steel Group Co., Ltd.; it works very well. The system has built a uniform operating platform, which reduces material purchasing cost and inventory quantity effectively, improves processing ability in data and business and brings great economic benefit to the company.
