Progress control is an important work during the management of highway project construction , It restrcts the realization of cost and schedule goals.lt is an important process that always the manager's draw attention in the construction it is especially highly reguired in terms of veracity and time.design variations and claim indemnity increase difficulty for this miscellaneous and meticulous work. During construction of highway project in our province, progress is still compiled through manual work and delivered to report and feedback to the leadership through fax.thus causing low work efficiency and accuracy.it is difficult to ensure it on time. So it is quite necessary to expoire an information management system that combines the function of projectcontracting,palnning,statistics,analyse and feedback together. This Project progress management system (PPMS)is established in highway project statistics,and based on FIDIC.together with mnangement modes in our province, meanwhile, many management experience and examples are introduced, trying to enable the combined management as of contracting, planning, statistics, analyse etc. into effective, improving the scientific.timely and accuracy of the management, enabling the constructor to understand the progress timely and accurately, offering effective service for manager to make scientific decision.The PPMS has following functions.including system capability maintenance, project information management, contractmanagement,bill of quantities management.planmanagement.current pigress management, progress collecting management.progress analysing management,system data maintenance.etc.The thesis completes the general design of the PPMS and implementation of some function module.Thethesis is divided into6 chapters, which can be summarized into four parts:Part 1(Charpter 1):Generally introducts the present management status of expressway projectsignificance of the development of PPMS, assumption of the study and expected results.Part 2 (Charpter 2): Majorly introduces the development tools and computer technologies employed.The SQL Server 2000, UML (unified model language), RATIONAL ROSE, XML, .NET, .NET.safety option are introduced respectively research together with some deeper technologies.Part 3 (Charpter3, Charpter 4, and CharpterJS):This three chapters introduce detailedly the system analysis,general anylysis and design, design and implementation of some function module.System analyse majorly includes progress management module analyse system development principle.frames of system and its oerating environment.The present progress management modules mainly emphasize on three level management such as employer.supervisor.and constructor.In consideration that the system user has several projects and distributed in different places, B/S frame is introduced in the system. This system only needsdevelop web program(client server is not needed),and then the universal applied program is put in the web server.the client server only needs simple and universal browser visit the data, greatly reduce the special settings and soft ware installations The maintenance work can be done in service server only.thus simplifying the maintenance work.lower down the maintenance cost. The B/S frame is simple, convenient and quick , it can not only improve work efficiency by enabling managers in differentlocations to know the progress in time.to some extent , it also ensure the efficiency the system,reduces the developing cost and period, breakthrough the limit of applied areas3nsures the safety of key data.quickness, simliness,convenience and better interactions of the system.The functios of the system are designed through analyse of user'srequirements.the functions completed by subsystems are described ,uml are applied to describe and build module in specific design.The UMS are applied to conduct specific analyse, descripto the system, through module building , the external role and functional requirement and their relations are interested to the system can be described and identified.This paper givers readers the sample chart,which illustrates the samples participarts andtheir reations.The active chart also meets the needs of explaning the activities of samples and relations among each activities. This paper gives readers the active chart of lodging in .checking and progress.time and process chart describes the inter relationsbetween each elements and displays their activecooperations. This paper gives readers the time and process chart when the employer lodge in ;structureal chart describes the structures of each chart and their relations. This paper give gives readersthe charts used in progress management and their relations. Through UML module bulkding/the realization of system functions can be ensured.The subystem property maintenance includes system code maintenance,progress schedule program maintenance, construction period maintenance and other functional settings ect.. The other functional settings includes user's authorization, printing,chart setting etc..construction maintenance management includes total working period, commence date and planned completion date.The sub basic information management system includes the general description of the project, infomation management of constructors, information management of supervisors etc.. The information is put into the database by employer, it is one of the major information checked by users.The sub contract management system provides contract Nos,constructors,supervisors, employers, locations.first and last sake Nos.type of contract, commence date, proposed time of completion etc..The sub bill of quantities system includes the maintenance of bill codes. Bill of quantities, contract bills management etc.,and details of each contract package.The sub planning management system provides themaintenance of monthly planning in each annum and construction period.lt aoso provides the plan modifications in line with progress.The sub statistic management system includes the statistic data input, computation of bill of quantities. Summary of bills of quantities in each chaptes, input of the progress of principal projects.The sub summary of statistic management system includes the present summary.annual statistic summary.accumulative total amount completed summary.principal project progress summary.The sub progress analyse management system includes monthly progress.the annual accumulative total amount completed ,the automatically forming the chart ,the users can intuitionistically observe the progress of the project, it is a basis of plan modification as well.The system database maintenance function includes transforming of database, recerption and backup of statistic database,restoration of chart data etc.In the design and realization of some functional modules, the specific method of certain modules and virous key interface chart are described.Part 4(Chapter 6):This part is the summary of the thesis, and gives ther readers the development direction of system in the futher.The realization of the total system is a complete process of software developing. It involves in the theory and means of realization of web applied program design, database and software engineering, combined with the developing thchnique and design concept. It basically covers all aspects involved in the progress management system, which has strong generalization and application.
