Two_phase or multiphase flow is one of the mixed flow modes widely exist. The parameter detecting is more and more important with the development of modern industry and automatization. The new detect methods are cried for as the times required and Process tomography(PT) is the typical one of them. PT is a new technique developed rapidly in recent years, which has great developmental potential and wide industrial application prospect. Having many distinct advantages such as low cost, wide application field, simple structure, non-invade and better safety, Electrical Capacitance Tomography(ECT) has being the most popular research direction and the main development in Process tomography technique. There is still a lot of work to be done before practical use of the technique.The object of this dissertation is on the research of 8-electrode Electrical Capacitance Tomography system. A new control method of data acquisition with high speed has been well developed based on FPGA in this paper. The main research work of the paper is to discuss the theory and the structure of ECT, discuss the characteristic and actuality of high speed data acquisition and real time data signal processing, and design a control system used in ECT system which have the following advantages: high speed and reliability, flexible structure, universal application, modularization design, short development period, convenient for maintenance, and easy in system programmable(ISP). The control system worked well in the past experiments, and a new effectual control method of ECT system has been put forward and well developed.
