In this paper, temperature's effects on the performance of LD pump solid state laser, and the essentiality of the temperature control system for laser diodes and crystal are analyzed. The state and the development of temperature control system is introduced. The theory and technique of temperature control are discussed. According to the actual requirement of the company, a temperature digital control system for LD pump solid state laser is designed. In this system singlechip is used as control unit, TEC is used as cooling/heating unit and NTC is used as temperature measurement unit. The design method for every part of the hardware system is presented in this paper, at the same time, the schematic circuit diagram; the components in system are also presented. In the aspect of software, the design method of every function unit and the software flow chart are presented. In the system, the use of keyboard and LED display module makes temperature's control and measurement more easily. In the system of data acquisition, the rate and precision of the system are developed greatly by the use of high precision temperature measurement system and the advanced method of data processing. In the system of power control, on the one hand, the most popular PID control theory is used, on the other hand, on the base of traditional PID theory, the method of wee adjusting of control voltage are introduced. This development increases the stability of system, the control precision of system and the dynamic character of system.
