Space-borne Rada(rSBR)with satellite platform gives the opportunity for long range, large scale target detection and tracking, and does not be restricted airspace or the earth curvature. In recent years, it is attractive for researchers in radar field research. Furthermore,the research on statistical character and simulation of clutter are essential in the process of debugging or testing performance of radar. Therefore, it is extremely significant to study Space-borne Radar clutter. This paper just take Space-borne Radar clutter as the research object, completes the following job for the research on statistical character and simulate of Space-borne Radar clutter.Based on MATLAB simulation environment,at first, the generation mechanism and algorithms on simulation of clutter studied, especially discussed several classic related statistical model, and gives the simulation results after that. Then,with raw data completed the typical scenes such as grassland, the sea and the urban areas of imaging,sets the stages for analyzing statistics characteristic of clutter. Next through the similarities and differences of echo signals between broadband and narrowband two radar system in-depth discussion, a simulation method of narrowband radar clutter based on broadband radar clutter for particular field puts forward. By using this method, the simulation of airborne narrowband radar clutter data and space-borne narrowband radar clutter data specific to a particular area are achieved to respectively. Subsequently, for some experiential statistic models provided before, through fitting with the space-borne broadband radar clutter data, the research indicates that these experiential models have limitations to describe the statistic properties of space-borne broadband radar clutter. At last, the paper weightily analyses generalized compound (GC) pdf model which is based on product model, and the gradual changes of model parameters are described. For the problem of estimating GC model's multi-parameter, a fast parameter estimation algorithm which combines method of moments (MOM)and genetic algorithm(GA) is brought out. And more, the accuracy to estimate parameter, also the applicability of GC model describing space-borne broadband radar clutter are validated by fitting experiments.
