Paper price tags for everyday use are widely applied in the area of merchandise sales.Over the years,in large supermarkets, paper price tags management, updating and maintenance rely on manual operations of a large number of tally clerks.It is inefficent.With the expansion of the supermarket and business growth, the management of disorder, confusion and other conflicts are also increasingly apparent.As the lack of supervision or the operator negligence,it is prone to the commodity price does not meet the actual price.It will affect the normal activities of daily sales.Recently some large well-known supermarkets frequently burst out "price-gouging" event.Finally enterprises not only under severe penalties, but also greatly affect its own image.So,it is important to desing and development of a system for supermarkets shelf plate prices to provide real-time updates. The electronic sign board is an electronic display devices to replace traditional paper-based price tags.Electronic sign board communicate with supermarket management information system through wireless communication technology .When the commodity price changes,display of goods prices will be automatically synchronized .Electronic sign board system can not only help the list price flexibility to respond to frequent promotions in supermarkets, but also providing more management and optimization of product information features.It will improve the supermarket class of retail business operations efficiency.For supermarket price tag maintenance work involving characteristics of high demand,like large amount of imformation, real-time and high reliability requirements and taking into account the daily operation of supermarkets,system deployment costs and other factors, paper aimed at to design and develop a wireless electronic price tag system base on wireless communication technology with real-time update and low-cost features to replace traditional paper-based price tag system.Zigbee technology is a short-range communication technology has been widely used in various industries.It's low cost, low power consumption and high reliability features can satisfy the electronic sign board system's technical requirements.Papers firstly analyze the functional requirements according to the operational characteristics of the supermarket system.Then in-depth discuss the principles and features of ZigBee technology based on comparison of various short-range wireless communications technology.Design a wireless electronic sign board system with Zigbee technology.Compared a number of semiconductor manufacturers ZigBee protocol chips.Finally paper design ZigBee nodes with CC2430 chip of TI company.According to the characteristics of ZigBee networks and electronic sign board system requirements, designed three types of node:the coordinator node, high-power routing node and electronic price display node.Complete the three types of node hardware design and construction.Paper have developed procedures for CC2430 chip resource utilization,LCD driver, serial communications and wireless communications base on establishment of CC2430 chip integrated development environment.Meanwhile according to different applications for each type of nodes, paper designed each note application programs.Finally,a common product information management program designed by Visual C++ development environment.Complete the corresponding node of the hardware and software development work, make the system node functional test and the network test.Verify the feasibility of the design.Confirm that the system has a practical value.
