Short-range Wireless Communication can not only send information anywhere and anytime, but reduce the demand for wire link, and it improve the functional agility of communication system. Short-range Wireless Communication has many advantages, such as flexible removability, agility, universality and high rate, so it will be used in house and official field more and more universal. The theory of microstrip radiators was proposed for more than twenty years,. Microstrip antennas have some principal advantages compared to conventional microwave antennas, such as lightweight, low profile, planar configurations, low fabrication cost , easy compatibility with modular designs and so on. Microstrip antennas will ultimately replace conventional antennas for most applications. Especially, with the development of Short-range Wireless Communication, more and more mobile communication equipments need lightweight, flexible, and low profile antennas. So microstrip antennas show their advantages in all kinds of communication environment. It is very important to go on studying the characteristics of microstrip antennas. The paper aims at the application of microstrip antennas in Short-range Wireless Communication and analyzes the theory of microstrip radiators. Two new styles of microstrip antennas were designed for the application of bluetooth communication system and Ultra-wide Band radio. In order to prove the validity of the design for the two antennas, the microwave EDA software was used to simulate and optimize the parameters of antennas. Finally two kinds of antenna models were made and the key parameters of microstrip antennas were measured with VNA. The paper not only shows the parameters of two new styles of microstrip antennas, but provides the method for the analysis and design of microstrip antennas. The paper consists of six chapters. The first chapter is preface .The second chapter discussed the UWB radio. The third chapter specified the theory of microstrip radiators. The fourth chapter discussed the FET in brief. The fifth chapter is the core of this paper. It showed the process of design, analysis and measure of microstrip antennas; in detail. The last chapter is the summarization of the work that we have done. The advice for the future work was presented.
