As a kind of local bus, PCI provides a bridge between CPU and high-speed peripheral devices for its high throughput. Multimedia data transmission cards based on the PCI bus technology can be applied to all kinds of occasions on mass-data real-time collection and transmission, including audio and video, industrial, military and the others. This topic applies it in audio and video data collection and transmission, and completing the interacts among terminal voice, video, and text datas. With the characteristic by combining PCI bus and FPGA programmable technology, this study has ensured mass-data transmission in real time and at constant speed without data broken by high-speed asynchronous serial communication protocol based on time-dicivision multiplexing technology designed myself. In addition, this design can provide a good platform to enhance the effect on foreign language and Chinese teaching. Through the actual operations and the debugs, each technical specification has achieved the design requirements.The first part of this paper elaborates the topic significance of this study. The second part introduced the overall design and related technology of digitized language teaching system, including overall design scheme, multimedia data transmission card framework and principles. At the same time, a single wire serial interface bus, two-wire serial interface bus and custom definition asynchronous serial communication protocol are introduced. The hardware circuit design and software design of multimedia data transmission cards based on PCI bus technology is introduced in the third part, in which the functions of PCI9054 and FPGA programmable chip on transmission cards and the succession coordination between them are discussed. We use Protel99SE as a Hardware design platform, and make programmed logical design on QuartusII which as a software design platform. At the same time, the function and the application of main chip in the transmission card are discussed. We choose the FPGA and PCI9054 PCI interface card as the core design in this project. The fourth part describes the network switch design on the transmission system platform. This section introduces the data transmission architecture between network switches and multimedia data transmission cards, meanwhile, the data transmission architecture between network switches and the system terminals is also proposed. In addition, it analyzes the circuit structure of network switches which take the FPGA programmable chip as the core and the use of LVDS high-speed differential serial interface communication. The software and hardware debugging on multimedia data transmission card is discussed in the fifth part. Besides, we analyze the system feasibility according to debugging results, and also propose the difficulties of this design in this part. The last part is the conclusion of the article.
