With the acceleration of urbanization and the increasing scarcity of land resources, it is become an inevitable trend to make use of urban underground space. The shield machine, as special underground construction machinery, has broad market prospects. The earth-pressure balanced (EPB) shield machine is now one of the most technical mature shields machine in the world, which can excavate soil body, transport earth, assemble lining of tunnel, correct an error caused by survey guidance and so on. The cutter head system is shield machine's heart which undertakes the duties of actuating cutter head revolving, excavating cutting surface, stirring the soil and sealing cabin soil, it is the main driving operation device. CC-LINK-based cutter shield machine drive control system using sensor-less vector control strategies cutter drive motor for precise control of the synchronization, while the operational status of field devices, alarm and other information in real-time is feedback to the user interface. This system is vital important to enhance reliability, security of the shield machine movement, lightens dispatcher's burden, and realizes the shield construction automation and modernization.Design of cutter drive control system is built on the basis of construction process and mechanical structure, faced with a complex geological construction, cutter drive system must have high reliability, easy operation and so on. For requirements of cutter Head, this monitoring system has the following main research areas:(1) Selection of electrical components, such as the frequency converter, circuit breaker, AC reactor, noise filter, current transformer and so on. Induction motor control based on a reasonable choice of the inverter, the inverter is determined in choosing the peripheral parts of the drive, thus ensuring a good supply throughout the motor system.(2) Construction of CC-LIK control system communication network. CC-LINK protocol in the start, through the communication theory, communication structure and the Q Series PLC control system upon the understanding of the construction of communication networks, focusing on principles of constructing the network structure and network construction and network parameter settings and so on. PLC controllers and workstations for the PLC, PLC and inverter and controller workstations, PLC and touch screen communication between the GP parameter settings and address allocation.(3) Regulation of inverter parameters and design of control strategies to achieve the control of 10 synchronous induction motor. Preparation and compilation of the control procedures is done under the analysis of the control strategy, preparation of control flow sensor and vector control under the no-thought with the drive control mode Communication program and inverter starting program is written though GX Developer.(4) Design and system simulation of HMI. HMI's design mergers into industrial design elements, GP touch screen software and GP-PRO/PBⅢis applied to realize the function of cutter compilation speed, cutter torque, cutter real-time display and so on. After the framework hardware system is completed, the entire system is debugged which including inverter parameter settings, network communications testing.
