Developed countries enforced national standard of the electromagnetic compatibility for arc welding machine early, formed trade barriers of import and export to arc welding equipment made in China. Since December 2009, the design and manufacture of arc welding machine should follow the enforced national standard of the electromagnetic compatibility for arc welding machine. Among various electromagnetic immunity tests, the capability of voltage dips immunity is a critical determinant to evaluate the electromagnetic immunity of a welding machine. The social benefit and economic benefit of welding equipment EMC problem caused China welding equipment manufacturers attention, inspired the research of high-power three-phase voltage dips immunity test equipment.According to the standard of voltage dips generator (GB 15579.10-2008 and GB/T 17626.11), in accordance with the welding process which required frequently switches of the welding machine, a high power three-phase voltage dips immunity test equipment is developed. The hardware is designed upon two-way electronic power switch, which composed by rectifier bridge and IGBT, and coordinate AC contactor to achieve phase sequence adjustment, voltage dips occur circuit and power protection circuit.By using microprocessor MSP430F449, MT506TV touch screen (by WENWIEW) is programmed to achieve three experiment modes: 1). in accordance with GB 15579.10-2008 take a single-phase voltage dips test 2). in accordance with GB 15579.10-2008 conduct a three-phase voltage dips test and 3). customize parameters voltage dips test, which is in coordinate with hardware system.The three phase voltage dips equipment presented here is consist of phase sequence adjustment unit, contact protection unit, dips occurred unit and dropping program control unit. Four units were designed, manufactured, tested and assemble into prototype machine. The prototype machine performance was evaluated by test the overshoot voltage change rate, time of voltage abrupt, angular resolution and the capacity to evaluate. The test results show that the three-phase voltage dips immunity test equipment meet the requirements of national standard of voltage dips test for the arc welding machine, capable of test resistive load and capacitive load. Research work provides the theoretical guidance and complete technical solutions for hiph-power three-phase voltage dips immunity test equipment.
