Ortho-CT can reflect the situation of the oral cavity with three-dimensional CT imaging, and even the more subtle local lesions of the oral cavity, which can not be detected by other kind of X-rays medical equipment. Its three-dimensional reconstruction of bone, or other tissue can help doctors design the rapeutic approaches before surgery. At the same time, as opposed to the traditional medical imaging equipment, Ortho-CT has benefits of low cost, low dose, high resolution and flexibility, and has important scientific significance in stomatology and oral medicine, the results also can drive medical imaging, intelligent group of medical equipment development and other disciplines. The reasonably designed structure of the system is of important significance to ensure reliable and accurate for the image quality.Based on the ergonomic requirements, we investigate the oral structure data of the different ethnic groups in different parts to make sure that the structure of the system should fit the majority of people's conditions, then Solidworks is applied to design a three-dimensional structure of universally applicable system for different individuals, and then import the 3D files into ANSYS Workbench, and analyze the linear static structural characteristics and dynamic simulation characteristics, and finally, we optimize the structure based on these analysis. Traditional mechanical structure design is based on static analysis, and then improved the design according to the physical prototype, this design process costs is high and reliability is not guaranteed. In this paper, we reduce the cost and greatly shorten the developing cycle by using the virtual prototype technology. After manufacturing, installing and debugging the prototype, using a new imaging system calibration method to calibrate the prototype's geometric parameter, Experimental results show that the system meets the requirements of practical use. And the experimental results based on the Imaging scan of the head model show that the overall structural design is reasonable. Finally, the experimental results show that structure is designed feasible.
