The television report of major sport events has found the best combining site for the sports culture and the television media. 2008 Beijing Olympic Games is not only the unprecedented grand meeting of world sports athletics, but also the unprecedented grand meeting of global television media. Many investigations showed that Beijing Olympic Games television reports refurbished historical record in global viewing ratio, the number of participated reporter, the income of television dissemination organization and so on.This article take Beijing Olympic Games television report as the research object, using the cultural research method to carry on the multi-perspectives,multi-stratification analysis. The full text is divided four parts. First, introduce the theory origin and development about"the society of the spectacle","media spectacle", and the summary of domestic and foreign related domain's research and the progress. Second, outline Beijing Olympic Games television report through four aspects—report scale, program shape, television technology, management income. Then, give the concept of television sports culture spectacle, refine three spectacles on the foundation of"the society of the spectacle"and"media spectacle": the humanities Olympic spectacle, the star athletics spectacle, the sports industry spectacle, carry on the concrete study on the illustrative case in the method of sociology, mass communication, cultural science, marketing. Finally, unscramble the Beijing Olympic Games television report spectacle though economic, political, cultural lays, study the relations with consume society, ideology control and taste changes.
