Ground subsidence is a very serious geological disaster. Light point to say, it affects the appearance of the buildings, makes the wall crack, the building tilt and the whole structure achieve the normal use limit state, seriously affects people’s using mood. Serious point to say, it makes the building slip, collapse and the whole building be damaged, it indicates that the whole structure achieve the bearing capacity limit state. In this case, there will be serious harm to people’s lives and property, resulting in great loss and irreparable injury. Therefore, the importance of settlement monitoring is self-evident.There are many ways for subsidence monitoring, such as static leveling, GPS monitoring method and so on, these traditional methods have some drawbacks more or less, in this paper, we will introduce a new monitoring mode according to the relocation project of the main station building of Tianjin West Railway Station. First, we have designed and implemented the overall monitoring interface using Java language, including project information, project progress, monitoring data, risk alerts and video surveillance and many other modules. At the same time, we add two other parts: the real-time monitoring and the expert diagnosis so that the staff can get the changes of the settlement data in time and carry out macro-control to the whole project. The real-time monitoring function is dependent on the vc + + language. There are two major problems here: the communication between PC and the logging devices as well as the GPRS modules,the real-time display of the settlement data,the two issues can both be achieved based on vc + +. At last, the experimental results show that: the use of Java language and vc + + language can successfully realize the accurate monitoring of the remote settlement.
