Gigabit-capable Passive Optical Network ,as the third generation passive optical network technology, not only inherit the technical characteristics of point to multipoint transmission technology and flexible composition of tree-type,bus-type and star LAN structure,but also overcome the low efficiency of ATM technology carrying IP traffic in APON and significant limitations of EPON carrying TMD service, becomes an effective and inexpensive solution of a new-generation access network. In order to bring GPON system the synthesis superiority like high bandwidth,long-distance,high-branching ratio and full services access into full play, reduce network fault and signal interruption, insure the system running reliably,efficiently and steadily, providing suitable network management system is an effective and efficient method. So research and design GPON network management system is of great significance.This paper first on the basis of presenting the construction and operation principle of GPON system, build the architecture of GPON network management system. By analyzing of OMCI protocol,manage control plane protocol,MIB protocol and ONU alarm agreements, focuses on the research and design of management control module in ONU, this includes: define the functions of control and management that exist in a ONU and give it's software design constructor, and carry on making a deep study of each functional module, like OMCI protocol module,MIB management module,data acquisition module and ONU alarm module.At last, explore and research the key technologies involved on the level of realization of these modules, in this way, it provides a theoretical basis for the follow-up work.Then, according to GPON system architecture, explain embedded solving scheme of hardware platform of ONU and had the platform to build. Based on the whole structure and its features of GPON network management system and analysis the needs of the ONU management control modules,builds software development platform including embedded system software platform,cross-compile environment and embedded database developing environment. Finally, according to network management system requirements, achieve the ONU-side OMCI protocol module,MIB management and data acquisition function module on the development platform which has been established. Based on the principle of OMCI communication, this paple chooses serial port communication technology of embedded system to achieve codec and transmission of OMCI frame; based on MIB requires fast access,relative simplicity and consuming little resource, chooses SQLite relational database management system as a embedded database; based on the requirements of collect physical data and data storage, chooses built-in analog digital converter to collect voltage data,by writing driver to control operate hardware devices and writing application software to realize function; based on ONU alarm protocol, analysis and design of ONU alarm module.The implementation scheme of OMCI protocol module,MIB management module and data acquisition module this paper provided has important theoretical and realism meaning to the development of GPON network management technique and its industrialization...
