Tacrolimus (FK-506) is an important macrolide immune agents, which has become the first-line drugs in clinical of the liver and kidney transplant rejection by now. However, most of the domestic markets have been occupied by Japan, the United States and other countries. It is necessary for us to develop a productive technology of tacrolimus with independent intellectual property rights and being turned into productive forces. Because the tacrolimus is the secondary metabolites of streptomyces, the key part is to study the metabolism network of tacrolimus in streptomyces, to parse the key enzymes and the critical metabolic pathway, to improve the yield of tacrolimus. Therefore, it is particularly important to develop the streptomyces image acquisition and processing system, which is used to reappear the growth and metabolism of streptomyces, to optimize the growth conditions and then to improve the target product.Development of streptomyces image acquisition and processing system includes the streptomyces image acquisition module and streptomyces image processing module. In this paper, we have focused on the streptomyces image processing module, which includes two parts, the system hardware platform design and the system software realization. In hardware design, we have constructed a small scale, fast processing and flexible controlling hardware platform by making full use of DaVinci board with powerful capability of video and image processing and rich peripheral interfaces. Software realization includes the DaVinci system software and the user software. We have focused on the DaVinci system software architecture, the Codec Engine framework, level set method for bacteria detection, areas calculation and GPIO character device driver. Statistical analysis of experimental data shows that the linear relationship between streptomyces areas and the dry weight has been found out by calculating streptomyces areas. Therefore, streptomyces areas can be used as one of the important characteristics to determine the growth status of streptomyces, which has laid foundation for analysis of streptomyces growth and metabolic network, detection and monitoring on line, optimizing the growth conditions of streptomyces and improving the target product. Streptomyces image acquisition and processing system based on DaVinci technology has good accuracy, efficiency and stability.
