| Video coding technology is a key in the multimedia signal processing area, and is used in many fields such as DVD, HDTV, visible telephone, digital video meeting, remote surveillance systems and so on. The main requirement for video processing application involved in two aspects: 1)enough computing capability which can support high resolution video processing. 2) strong control capability is a must. Since the future video application is extended to more wider fields from single use, those solutions based on operating systems will have larger appliance.The analysis of the architecture of TMS320DM6446 and DVEVM board are introduced. Its dual-core ARM plus DSP architecture can fully meet the requirement both of computing and control capability. The paper deals mainly with the programmable Codec Engine framework and analysis of the theory and realization of dual-core communication strategy. It also realize video codec interface based on Codec Engine framework which is used in KVM remote surveillance system. In other aspect, some foundation research has done about video coding technology and H.264/AVC standard which helps to develop current and optimized Codec. |
