Research On The Key Technologies Of Multi-Media Communication Terminal Based On Davinci Platform

The embeded multi-media communication terminal is the heart in a multi-media system such as real time video surveillance,and live video communication application.The DaVinci technology presented by TI company supports a remarkable software and hardware development platform with its high performance and low power dissipation,which features two CPU cores of a GPP and a DSP.This thesis implemented the main tasks of the development of an embeded multi-media terminal based on TI DaVinci platform,including operating system transplantation, multi-media data acquisition,video codec,and video network transmission.DaVinci TMS320DM6446 is employed with a ARM and a DSP which aims for the application of next generation embeded network multi-media.It integrates a specially designed coprocessor engine for accelerating the digital video development and multiple peripheral intefaces,fully fulfil the requirement of multi-media development such as high performance video application. The ARM inside takes the charge of user application tasks such as multi-media data acquisition,network and the system control etc.,while the DSP maily implements the multi-media arithmetic processing.They cooperative via Codec Engine and DSP/LINK.Hareware modules were debuged via JTAG emulator under CCS.And then audio driver and video driver were studied in this thesis, and finally the transplantation of the bootloader(u-boot) and Montavista Linux kernel were realized. Upon the operating system, the software development enviroment was rebuilt. H.264 codec was implemented under the DaVinci Codec framework,and the video network transmission system based on JPEG was realized. According to the server-application mode,a multi-media algorithms auto-packaging scheme was developed.
