Research On The Influence Of Digital Reading On Traditional Reading

Reading is an important means of accessing to information and knowledge. From reading prehistoric cave rock art to reading oracle bones, bamboo, silk, to reading books, newspapers, magazines, to reading the multimedia, human reading activities associated with the history of human civilization in every stage of development. The carrier symbol of documentating and communicating information is developing and innovating constantly, especially with the invention of papermaking and the general application of paper. We come to a mass era of the traditional reading.The computer has changed our reading life. With the development of network media and digital technology, the rise of digital reading has a certain impact and challenge on the traditional way of reading. This paper uses literature research, comparative analysis, comprehensive quantitative analysis and qualitative analysis methods. In order to facilitate the development of traditional reading, on the basic of analyzing the situation of the national reading, this paper sort out the differences between two ways of reading and explore what the digital reading has affected the traditional reading.This paper consists of four parts:the first part is to sort out the meaning of reading and the evolutionary process of the media for reading. The second part is to definite the meaning of digital reading. The third part is the core part of this paper, to comparatively analysis the differences between two ways of reading and explore what digital reading has affected traditional reading. The fourth part is the traditional reading of the future.The value and historical role of traditional reading can't be replaced by the new digital reading. But the traditional reading can't compare with advantages of digital reading, too. The digital reading can not completely replace the traditional reading. But it is undeniable, digital reading will become the mainstream of human reading. Both traditional reading and digital reading are just reading tools. The key is still the choice of reading content.
