On The Construction Of Decision-Supporting System At Educational Technology Labs Center Of SHNU

After the foundation of educational technology labs center, management of labs'equipment should be understood from a new angle. To meet the needs and solve the problem in practice, the idea of a system which is informational, containing comprehensive analysis, decision-supporting capability applying to scientific management is quickly made.Business intelligence is a brand-new technology which uses data warehouse, on-line analytical processing and data mining technology comprehensively to handle and analyze data. It takes a holistic thinking which enables us to transform data into valuable information and useful knowledge. The data warehouse is the data collection supporting management decision-making process, facing the theme, integrated, becoming lasting over time, which is used to support the decision making process in operating management. Data warehouse technology effectively use large amounts of data in long-term operation of the enterprise, so as to solve the contradiction of previous data which are so many but not informative, making decision support system from"model driven"to"data driven"transformation become possible; OLAP technology in data warehouse is conducted on the basis of data analysis and decision making forecasts.First of all, this thesis makes relevant researches on the needs and features of educational technology labs center, and the problems in practice should be solved and the huge challenge has been facing by interviewing. The analysis of literature review of decision-supporting system at home and aboard is carried out. The study of the application and usage situation in educational area recently goes further.Secondly, the actual demand as the starting point to design-oriented, data mart is created with SQL Server in a snowflake mode after the analysis of business intelligence and its core technology deeply. To the BI components of SQL Server 2008 Integration Services (SSIS) for the support, original data is extracted from database and then is loaded into the data mart after being transferred. A cube is designed in Analysis Services (SSAS) which is used to associate the measures in the fact table with the dimension tables. According to decision-making customer, a data connection is created in Excel which is browsing data from SSAS cube, and could browse the data to support decision-making randomly.Thirdly, a typical case that data from the decision-supporting system works on the management of educational technology labs center is shown. Finally discussion is made of key point problems, given a conclusion of all the research work.
