Research On Video Integration Based On Darwin Streaming Server With Application

There is difficulty among the coordination and seamless connection of equipments in the existing video integration applications, such as intelligent building management, industrial production environment monitoring, video network communication and city security monitoring. In such systems, there are requirements to share data flows, to transfer numerous data packet of streaming media and to operate control information flow integrally.The network transmissions of most current video integration systems are based on TCP/IP. Network bandwidth limit and mass of concurrent access are two bottle necks for video integration applications. In the thesis, the open sourced Darwin Streaming Server (DSS) is deeply analyzed and investigated, and it is applied to a video integration system. Based on the wide study and test of DSS, to overcome the unrestricted client visiting to audio or video source, the new system suggested in this thesis set some limits on client visiting in order to satisfy the security needs for video integration applications.By setting up the Darwin Streaming Sever in a Linux server, we solved the sharing problem of mass clients accessing the same audio or video source in the same local area network (LAN). It is implemented through one audio or video flow only in a LAN, so that the network bandwidth is reduced. By setting access right on each file, the thesis overcame the disadvantage of unrestricted access to the files in DSS and enhanced the security of video integration applications.
