Design And Implementation Of A WCDMA-Based Video Surveillance System

With the development of the internet/3G network technology, streaming media technology and embedded technology, and the human's attention to security and mechanical automation, the prospect of video surveillance system will be more and more promising.This paper has designed and implemented a 3G-based wireless streaming video surveillance system which is not only easy to use, but also has a stable performance. Put the video capture terminal anywhere under the coverage of 3G signals, and then users can watch the video monitor screen through the internet browser access terminals.First, compared to several existing 3G standard, this paper determined to use WCDMA standard; the paper also analyzed the current popular streaming media technology, compared to two common streaming media programs, selected the sequential streaming technology.Second, based on the research of existing 3G video surveillance systems, the paper established his own system organizational structure, and through the needs analysis, established the hardware and software's overall design.Then, paper detailed the overall design, and implemented the detailed design. Hardware part's work was mainly achieving the circuit and PCB design of the video capture terminal, on the premise of both performance and cost. Software part's work was mainly as follows:for the video capture terminal, building a Linux system platform, transplanting the dial-up procedures and then achieve video capture process' design, and for the video surveillance server-side, achieve the design of server program, and then add dynamic domain name service for the server.Finally, the system tests verified the design and implementation of the WCDMA-based video surveillance system is feasible.
