As the only nationwide English newspaper in mainland, China Daily made great contribution to china's foreign communication and becomes more and more influential worldwidely. China's foreign media group, which is on behalf of China Daily, will play an important part in the construction of national image.Facing kinds of opportunities and challenges, China Daily adjusted and improved itself constantly in the past 3 years. Since 2008, China Daily have conducted form correcting and expansion for 3 times, whose coverage paid more attention to comply and take emphasis on communication laws.National image is reflection of a country's objective state on public opinions. In the context of globalization, national image become more and more important unprecedentedly, China start to think highly of national image in order to conform to the historical trend of the time. It's a great responsibility for our foreign medias to present a peaceful rising and responsible great national image before the international community, which is also a basic objective of China Daily's foreign news coverage.According to the empirical study, the paper shows the features of our state image and aggregates the successful strategy that, China Daily has constructed. However, there are some problems which have hinder edits development. The paper will propose several strategic thoughts after analyzing the problems and hopefully it could give more respective for China Daily's international communication.
