The strip winding prestressed dies has longer life, shorter manufacturing cycle, lower manufacturing cost and higher carrying capacity than traditional dies, and become an important development of the dies. The winding tension control and the winding speed control are essential in the manufacture of the strip winding prestressed dies. Because the strip winding control system is a multivariable, nonlinear, multi-complex system and there is a strong coupling between tension and speed, it is difficult for conventional PID controller to achieve high-precision control performance, which is seriously affecting the life and strength of the strip winding prestressed dies. Therefore, how to solve the problem in strip winding control system, to ensure the stability, rapidity and precision of the winding process, has great theoretical significance and practical values.This paper is supported by the natural science foundation——study of design of varying tension of steel strip prestressed dies in theory and experiment (NO. 50875111). By analyzed the movement of the strip winding control system, the mathematical model of the system is set up. For the problem of tension and speed control in strip winding system, constant linear speed fuzzy PI control strategy and variable tension fuzzy PI control strategy with jitter compensation are studied. The feasibility is verified by simulations. Monitoring and management software is designed for the strip winding control system. Based on the study of the winding prestressed die manufacturing process, themain structure and the working process of the strip winding control system are analyzed and designed. The main components of the strip winding control system are analyzed, such as winding subsystem, unwinding subsystem, tension testing organizations, and so on. Then the mathematical model of the strip winding control system is established.Because the constant linear speed control system under conventional PI controller can not meet the high precision requirement, the fuzzy PI speed controller is designed based on fuzzy theory. In Matlab/Simulink, the simulation model of winding subsystem is built, and the constant linear speed control performance of fuzzy PI controller and conventional PI controller is compared. The results show that the better stability and anti-interference capability can be obtained in constant linear speed control system by fuzzy PI controller.Because there are many disturbances, parameter uncertainty and tension jitter in variable tension control system, the jitter compensation strategy and fuzzy PI tension control strategy are proposed. In Matlab/Simulink, the simulation model of the whole system is built. Then the tension control performance under difference controller is compared in simulation such as the traditional PID tension controller, feed forward jitter compensation controller and fuzzy PI tension controller with jitter compensation. The results show that feed forward compensation can effectively reduce the tension jitter. At the same time, fuzzy PI controller can effectively improve the rapidity and precision of the tension control.This study focuses on the constant linear speed control strategy and variable tension control strategy of the strip winding control system. It provides a theoretical basis and application base to solve the problem of the real winding control system.
