Research And Implement Of Workflow Management System

Workflow Management System(WfMS) is applied widely in the area of Office Automation(OA), Computer Aided Design(CAD) and Enterprise Resource PIanning(ERP). It provides a promising approach for process modeling, process executing and so on. For the application of WfMS in OA, the thesis researches the workflow theories, process modeling and the implementation technology of WfMS, and realizes a Domino-based workflow management system, supporting dynamic workflow schema. The main works in this thesis are listed as follows:1. Workflow theory and implementation technology are researched, in order to satisfy office's characteristic and requirements in OA environment, a workflow model-DCWFM which allows dynamically modification of workflow is put forward, and is defined using formal semantics.2. On the research of basic theory for workflow modeling, a new method for process modeling using directed graph theory is presented. Fourthermore six basic workflow schemas and five dynamic schemas are defined.3. Based on the structural conflicts analyzing in the process model, the verification approach of such conflicts is researched by applying graph reduction technique, the iterative reduction rule and subprocess rule are added to the traditional rules, and the overlapped reduction rule is modified.4. Based on the DCWFM, A Domino-based workflow management system(DWFMS) is designed and implemented. The workflow engine which allows a dynamically adjustable workflow is designed and implemented in details, and key operation algorithms of the workflow engine are given.5. At last, the realization technology and mothed of OA system based on the DWFMS are presented, and the integration of the DWFMS and the OA system is realized.
