Study On The Media Image Of Chengguan

In this thesis, the media image of chengguan was studied. In the study, quantitative statistical analysis and text analysis were both adopted. The media image of chengguan was hackled and interpreted by two main lines from the "vertical" and "horizontal" view.In this paper, "People's Daily", " West China Metropolis Daily " and "Sina" were selected as the research objects, of 1999,2001 and 2010 year, respectively. From the "vertical"'main line, the media image transition of chengguan was systematically studied by comparing the different media images of chengguan in the starting stage, the well regulation stage and the promoting stage, respectively. From the "horizontal" main line, three medium of the same period were compared to sum up the similarities and differences of the chengguan's media image among the party newspaper, newspaper and online media.From the "vertical" line, on the one hand, the public image of governing the city according to law was the main medium image of chengguan and it goes though from the beginning to the end; On the other hand, the media image of chengguan was diversified as time goes on, including dereliction of duty, corrupted bureaucracy image, the image of dedicated public servant, unreasonable bully image, the image of wronged and helpless victims, and also the image of law enforcement's pioneers have also emerged. From the "horizontal" line, on the one hand, the positive image of chengguan occupied the top three medium because of the political influence; On the other hand, due to the characteristics of party newspaper, its reports were much more cautious, rational, instructional and constructive; While, metropolis newspaper's reports were more operational, close and detailed; At last, network media's reports were highly comprehensive, and all kinds of reports were relatively uniform and rich.
