People's Daily, which is an official journal of Communist Party of China Central Committee, is one of the three most important official voices and also the most important ideology mass media of Chinese Communist Party. No matter it was in war years or in New era of reform and opening, as to its special Status and methodology, People's Daily has been playing an inerasable part in the entire Chinese revolution history. Indeed, the editorials that issued on every new year's day are not only a review of politic effects of party polices but also an outlook of the future development in aspects of politics, economic and civilization. As the key idea of areas changes, it is nothing else but a mirror that tells people the huge changes occurred or occurring. By studying the New Year editorials of People's Daily, the whole development of environmental change of China Chinese Media could be observed. In this paper, based on collecting and studying the New Year editorials of People's Daily issued from 1979-2011, the environmental change of China Chinese Media during the new period is conducted, besides, the developing trend of the Chinese Media environment as well as the suggestions of how an official journal of the party carries out its responsibility of leadership for mass media in the new period are also proposed.The research on Media Ecological Environment is a new angle of mass communication literature, nowadays, mass communication is developing in amazing speed, so it is very important to make sure a health environment for it. Therefore, a more deeply analyze into the environmental change of Media Ecological and more effective politics on it is wealth of attention.
