LTE-Advanced system is the evolution of LTE. It brings higher requirements on bandwidth, peak data rate and system spectrum efficiency. In order to achieve these demands and provide higher data rate as well as more fair experience among users, a lot of enhanced technologies are proposed. CoMP and Relay are two original space field technologies. They can greatly improve system performance by cooperation between Base Station (BS) and other nodes like BS or Relay.This paper researches on these two technologies and gives system level performance evaluation of them. The evaluation is based on a C++ system level simulation platform whose specific design as well as simulation parameters is introduced in chapter two of this paper.Research on CoMP is mainly focus on topology change brought by CoMP, construction of CoMP cluster and specific realization with their different methods and their own advantages as well as disadvantages. CoMP can be divided into two classes which are cooperative scheduling and joint data process according to different dealing method to the shared information. This paper concerns about the performance of joint data process schemes and system burden they bring.Research on Relay is mainly focus on comparison of two scheduling modes and performance of wireless backhaul link. We first assume that the backhaul link is transmitted through fiber which is good enough that no error occurs. The system level simulation results show that concentrated scheduling has better frequency selection gain while distributed scheduling is fairer. As to the signaling process, we analysis it and give some optimization. Furthermore, we study the wireless backhaul link and make the simulation. Results show that the capacity of wireless backhaul link is the bottleneck of whole system even after several optimizations.
