| A transmission aim, which has maximum data speed up to1Gbit/s, broader bandwidth and wireless band expanding to high frequency, was proposed by3GPP for the next generation mobile communication IMT-Advanced systems. In the discussion and appointment of the standards, cooperation and relay are two key technologies for LTE-Advanced to improve the spectrum efficiency due to their capability to enhance the cell edge coverage. This paper, combined with the projects, focus on the protocol design and implementation of MAC layer in the cooperation and relay transmission trail system, respectively.Based on the High Frequency (HF) Relay project, the MAC layer protocol design and implementation is described, processing of service data and control data is detailed. The principle of HARQ which is applied as the error control method of the HF relay system is introduced. HARQ process of select repeat is also designed. Mode switch of the relay system is under the cooperation of physical and MAC layer and it is designed in this paper.The hardware environment of the MAC layer protocol implementation in the HF relay trial system is introduced and software implementation scheme of the sub-layer and functional module is described. The format of MAC PDU, local control information and local index information is illustrated. The problem and the corresponding resolution during the debugging of MAC layer implementation, system testing method and result analysis are concluded while the effect of the HARQ implementation is also analyzed.Resource scheduling scheme of the MAC layer in the Coordinated Multi-point transmission system is detailed. The principle and classification of the coordinated multi-point as well as the inter-cell resource management strategy is introduced. The joint transmission system simulation platform of the static cooperating set division is built and the determination method of the cell edge users is depicted. Two scheduling schemes in the joint transmission system, the polling scheduling approach and proportional fair scheduling method, are simulated and proved that they can enable the improvement of cell edge user throughput.Part of the MAC layer protocol designed in this paper has already been implemented in the transmission trail system and can be used as the foundation of research and development for the relay system in the future. The resource scheduling algorithm has low implementation complexity in the CoMP scenario and is useful for the project implementation of CoMP system. |
