LTE is3GPP long term evolution of3G standard. LTE-Advanced is the IMT-Advanced technical standards submitted to the international tel-ecommunication union from3GPP. LTE-Advanced is the smooth evolu-tion of LTE, belonging to4G technology. Coordinated Multi-Point Transmission and Reception attract a lot of attention since put forward in June2008and it is an LTE-Advanced key technology of the technology. By allowing the transmission points in communication network sharing data or channel state information and coordinated scheduling between each other, the interference is converted to useful signal, which can im-prove cell edge user spectral efficiency and overall system performance. CoMP has significant advantages in terms of hardware and deployment flexibility, making it one of the most promising technologies of the future mobile communication systems. This paper mainly focuses on the related research and simulation analysis of CoMP based on the requirements and advices for LTE-Advanced from3GPP meetings, including non-ideal factors like in-terference measurement error and non-ideal backhaul. The main contents of the dissertation include:1. First of all, we build a CoMP DPS simulation platform of LTE-Advanced system and using it to evaluate the performance of three kinds of CoMP transmission mode. The result shows that, the three transmission modes can effectively improve edge user throughput.2. Then, we compared the performance gain of each transport mode and analyze their advantages and shortness. Secondly, in order to make the system better support CoMP operation, the interference measurement re-sources and interference measurement error are studied. According to the result of interference measurement error modeling based on ZP CSI-RS, we introduce the interference measurement error to system level simula-tion platform to achieve more practical system performance. Considered the interference measurement error, CoMP still has performance gain compared with single-cell transmission.3. Finally, we consider the CoMP transmission performance with non-ideal backhaul. Due to the large number of data packets and channel state information between the base stations, CoMP network has a higher requirement on the capacity and delay of backhaul link. The paper first models the non-ideal backhaul, and discusses the influence of non-ideal backhaul on the downlink CoMP CS/CB performance. With the increase of backhaul delay, the average and edge-user spectral efficiency will de-cline. When the time delay reaches10ms, CoMP CS/CB will obtain no performance gain compared with single-cell transmission.
