Research On CoMP Technology Of LTE-Advanced Systerm

LTE is the Long Term Evolution of the UMTS. The physical layer of LTE is based on OFDM and MIMO. LTE-Advanced is the further evolution of LTE. LTE-Advanced makes a lot of technical requirements. One of those requirements is improving the throughput of cell edge users. Relay and CoMP is introduced to support the requirement. In this paper, the system architecture and the basic technology of LTE are introduced firstly; Then CoMP is mainly studied, the parameters of the CoMP operating point selection are also studied. Based on these studies, an algorithm of CoMP operating point selection is proposed. This algorithm is based on the quality of signal, delay and load information of the candidate point. Then the signaling supporting the CoMP operating point selection is designed. Finally,the algorithm is simulated in MATLAB,and the simulation result is provided. The result shows that CoMP can improve the throughput of cell edge users effectively.
