Nowdays, the development of technology is at a fast speed. The requirement of people's living quality is increasing continuously, the focus of the development of digital media gradually from the higher compression rate, reduce the amount of data the transition to HD broadcast video and audio quality as the core of digital media. In the large data volume, high transmission rate request, the digital media transmission, and transmission interface become the focus of development of the consumer electronics industry, and also a kind of digital transmission interfaces has gradually appeared in the daily life, And HD-SDI and HDMI are the main representative of them.HD-SDI is evolved from SD-SDI that only support normal resolution, it mainly supports 1080i,720p HD resolution, on the basis of this development is 3G-SDI that supports 1080p,aslo full HD. Compared to the general video interface, the HD-SDI has some shortcommings of less supportting video format and smaller support of color space, but it has extemely good noise immunity because of the entire process for serial transmission, that makes it particularly suit to the long-distance transmisson. HD-SDI equipment connections on the downstream broadcast transmission by way of dialogue does not set the handshake signal, the downstream device is completely dominated by the source.The features of above make the HD-SDI become the the representation of long-distance transmission interface.HDMI is developed from the basis of the DVI on the transfer mode to simplify the interface appearance, greatly expanded support for video formats and color space, and adds support for audio transmission, can be transmitted successfully achieved almost All popular formats of video and audio,it truly achieve the target that video and audio transmit synchronously on the same line, it has a DDC channel of communication to meet the EDID, HDCP encrypted signals demand for verification, is to achieve unicast point to point video transmission the most complete Interface. HDMI has become a home representative of high-quality consumer electronics products interface.HD-SDI focused on long-distance transmission,and HDMI focus on normal use and program playback. Conversion between the two studies not only of the differences and links between the two, but can focus on transmission of high definition interface and focus on high-definition broadcast of a link established between the interface and has greater social significance.The main purpose of this design is the design and implementation of HDMI and HD-SDI two-way translation system to meet both their own characteristics, we must also have in common as far as possible combination of the two.This paper will expound that how to use the software method to implement the controlling of the conversion process, including video interface chip, driven conversion process design, troubleshooting, and analysis of EDID and HDCP information verification process control.
