| With the gradually improved data processing technology of computer, as well as the increasing data storage and the rapid developed multimedia technology, high definition video attracts more and more people's attention. For an increasing number of high definition video devices, a simple and effective method is needed to evaluate the image quality output from these devices.This design is aimed to develop a portable high definition digital video test signal generating modules, which is small-sized, low priced and can be used conveniently.it will meet the basic test function of high definition digital image signals devices. The final output test signal of the module is a interlaced scanning high definition SDI signal by 1920* 1080, which is deliver through BNC connector. The main part of this design is the FPGA programming, including the communication between personal computer and FPGA and the control and payload data delivering between FPGA and the GS2972 chip. In the former part, the main task is to send the status of the main video configuration register of the GS2972 chip to the PC by serial interface, and then we check if the chip is well working through the data sent. In the latter part, the main task is that the FPGA sends the horizontal synchronizing signal, vertical synchronizing signal and the data enable signal to the GS2972 according to the related video regulations of EIA-CEA-861-D, mean while sends the video data according to related regulations of SMPTE.292M. Before using the module, we download the codes to the module board through the computer, then the SDI signal will be output to a SDI-to-HDMI board and the test picture will be displayed high definition displayer. On the module board, a switch button is set to switch test pictures. The test pictures provided in this design will evaluates the definition and the contrast of high definition video devices. |
