In recent years, with the development of the radio technology and Internet and the improvement of people's living standard, more and more users want to engjoy the network services anytime, anywhere. Mobility support becomes a necessary requirement of the network. The occurrence of the Proxy Mobile IPv6 protocol changes the landscape, making it possible that hosts which handovers across different networks can still communicate continually. The Proxy Mobile IPv6 protocol is based on network, even the regular hosts can enjoy the mobility management service. There are varity of existing wireless access networks, and the way users access to the Interent are continuously enriched. Multi-interfaces mobile nodes are equipped with different types of network interface, which can access to multiple networks simultaneously and use more network resources. This can provide much stronger guarantee for users. Different networks have different properties, and the standard Proxy Mobile IPv6 protocol does not have the ability to select the best one from the networks which the mobile node accesses to. As a result, when there are more than one path to the mobile node, how the network selects the optical path to transport the data packets of the mobile node is a problem to solve in Proxy Mobile IPv6 protocol.First, we introduce the basic mechanism of Mobile IPv6 protocol and Proxy Mobile IPv6 protocol, and then we propose a Flow-based Path selection Scheme directed at the multi-interfaces hosts'path selection problem in Proxy Mobile IPv6 protocol, taking the demand of flows on bandwidth, delay, bit errof rate and so on into consideration, and also the network states. A Utility Function is proposed based on Multiple Attribute Decision Making. Through calculating the user utility of the service flow from those different networks, the network selects the the path which has the biggent utility for the packets to transport. Then we extend the NS2 module, simulate and compare the performance of the past selection scheme. Results of the simulation shows the Flow-based Path selection Scheme can provide greater throughput for the system.
