With the maturation of the 3G wireless communication technologies, ITU defines a new IMT-Advanced system in order to better meet market demand of rapid development. For meeting the Performance guideline,3GPP brought forward LTE-Advanced which introduced new key technologies such as carrier aggregation and CoMP to promote system capacity and network coverage.The topic of this paper derives from "Eleventh Five-Year" Plan key projects of National Science and Technology—"IMT-Advanced technology programs research and key technology development" which is in charge of China Academy of Telecommunication Research of the Ministry of Information Industry. The project aimed at design and implementation of LTE-Advanced system-level simulation platform according to the IMT-Advanced standardized framework, and evaluation of its key technology to promote IMT-Advanced technical proposal evaluation and LTE-Advanced standardized process.The thesis is mainly comprised by three parts. The first section outlines the LTE-Advanced key technologies and describes the aim and methodology of system simulation.In the second section, the design of a LTE-Advanced downlink system level simulation platform is introduced. The simulation platform is used to investigate the efficiency of 3GPP LTE standard on performance of several key techniques.The three section focus on the research of some key technologies. Firstly,the simulation results show the transformed codebook provides more gains of the sector spectrum effectiveness compared with LTE R8 codebook.Secondly, an downlink CoMP JP simulation scheme is implement and its performance is analyzed. At last, the paper research the supportable user number of PDCCH and vetifes the feasibility of cochannel networking.
