Research And Application Of Web-SSO System On Digital Campus

More and more department Systems based on B/S have established in universities, when the network is so popular and technologies is widely used. These Systems make the management of these department's business easier, and provide convenience for teachers and students to use. However as these kinds of systems become more and more popular, there are lots of questions coming out. For example, different kinds of systems have their own certification modules. When the student or teacher wants to log on to these systems, different kinds of certification are required for each of these systems, which is very inconvenient for using. Firstly, each system should have its own database for storing the users' certification information, which requires the user to remember each system's user account, password and other certification information. Secondly, each system has its own type of user information. The information between different systems is not synchronized, which causes the user information cannot be shared and difficult to be managed.In order to solve these problems, SSO (Single Sign-On) technology is implemented. With the SSO technology, a consistent user certification and accessing method can be provided for different kinds of application systems in school. Beside this, the user information can be integrated together, which makes sure each user just need one account and password to access all the authorized application systems in school. In all, SSO technology not only provides user with convenient to access to different systems, but also reduces the system cost to deal the duplicated certification.Based on the SSO platform in DLUT (DaLian University of Technology) and the actual situation of the school, the SSO implementation methods and technologies and the integrated model of the SSO are researched in this paper. Besides this, a SSO certification method based on CAS is provided. The method is to provide different kinds of users with one SSO system, which is easy to be managed and has good scalability. This method provides interface for future new application system, while maintaining the current available systems. With this, the user management and certification will be split out from the application systems, and a good foundation is established for the future informatization construction of the school.
