Application Of SOA To The University Library Management System

This thesis applies SOA(Service-Oriented Architecture) to the construction of library management system in my University.With the fast-speed development of computer technology and application, many universities start to apply computers to the management of library, and have greatly improved work efficiency. This thesis summarizes the current development status of library management system home and abroad. With combination of the unique characters of the library management condition of my University, the author adopts the latest software structure mode to the analysis and design of library management system after thorough analysis of library users'demands from my University.This thesis analyzes the source and background of the study, introduces the current development of libraries of home and abroad, sums up the deficiencies and then puts forward the theoretical and practical significance of this study with combination of the unique characteristic of the library management of my University. As one of the future generation software development ideas, SOA has had profound influence on modern software development patterns. SOA links functional modules through interfaces defined by services, and makes various components interact with each other in a uniform and universal manner. By using SOA framework, the coupling between systems is greatly reduced. Therefore, the reusability of software components is enhanced, and the integration of existent systems is much easier. In the development of SOA, Web service has gradually become the most efficient implementation mode of SOA. Therefore, in this thesis, we apply the development cycle to the realization of various services offered by library management system. To assure the security and stability of the system, we take this in consideration during each stage so as to provide a stable, reliable and convenient library management system to readers.The main purpose of this thesis is to make theoretical and methodological preparation for SOA-based system so as to offer a practical reference mode instead of developing a complete system to the development of various information system of the University. There are still some problems to be further studied and solved in this system, in future studies, more functions such as listing book publishers in the system can be added so that the library management system can be integrated with book purchasing system and library staff and reader will enjoy a system with complete function. With the construction of university digitalization, various management work of universities has gradually been informationized. Therefore, how to realize the information sharing and system integration of library management system with other information system of universities has become a major research area. This thesis is an attempt to develop library management system with SOA. The realization of the whole system is not mature and further study on SOA theory is to be improved.
