Library is the literature information center of a university and the academic institution providing services for teaching and research and it is also an important base of the university informatization and the society informatization. Library takes on the dual functions of education and information service and it is an important place to study and research for college teachers and students. Moreover, it is an important platform for the opening and cooperation of a university.Since the 1980 s, as the rapid development of China’s national economy and society, as well as the ever-changing IT technology and the proliferation of computers, the university library information management system also experienced from single module systems to integrated systems of single or multi machine and networking systems by leaps and bounds. It has made great achievements and makes its due contributions for the development of higher education.Currently, the building of University Library Information Management System faces the following two challenges:Firstly, during the late 1990 s, China’s deepening reform of higher education has brought rapid expansion of the scale of Chinese universities, forming a multi-campus university education pattern, thereby forming a multi-campus university library situation. It brings challenges for the building of library informatization: Each campus originally has a library and each library have purchased or developed their own library management system whose functions were fairly complete. Most of these systems are based on the LAN, which resulted in the library resources of the precinct can’t be shared, formed a lot of Information silos. Information can’t be shared between systems and functionally identical modules must also be developed repeatedly, making the information can’t be consistent and reducing efficiency.Secondly, IT is now experiencing the great migration to the third computing platform. As IT migrates to the third computing platform- Cloud platform, university libraries are facing new opportunities and challenges: In the Cloud computing environment, the management mode and the service mode which see the university library as an educational and information-sharing platform requires innovation. Anytime, anywhere, personalized service demand will lead to a new change of the university library.In this context, facing the actual needs of the building of Shandong University of Finance and Economic Library’s informatization, we have designed and implemented a prototype management system of Shandong University of Finance and Economic Library. We also solves following three key problems:The first is the choice of the system architecture. At the case of fully grasping the research situation of the library management system of university, through the analysis and comparison, we abandoned the traditional B / S three-tier structure and used service-oriented application software architecture SOA. The architecture has a standard interoperability and can statically and dynamically combine services.it is data-centric and has a better openness and adaptability.The second key issue is the integration of heterogeneous data sources. The problem is transformed into the interface design issues of service-oriented software and the database. On the basis of the literature review, through the data adapter, the database will be linked with the data set, thereby establishing the bridge between the service-oriented software and the different data entity.The third key issue is the consistency of the web service composition specification and the implementation. Based on the successful application of Formal Methods in software engineering area, we use the famous Pi-calculus as the unified description language of the web service and the web service composition. Using Pi-calculus’ s expression and reasoning ability, can proof the consistency of web service composition specification and implementation.
