With the rapid development of industrialization and the improvement of openness, manufacturing companies are facing enormous pressure on a range of issues such as market competition, rapid expansion of electronic data, difficulties in information exchange, product processes difficult to control. More and more enterprises have come to realize that the use of computer-aided technology and information management technology is a necessary method of survival and development to reform and innovation for enterprise.Product data management can organize product design, improve the product structure, change and track the process of product design data, query archived data and related information efficiently, coordinate and control the process of the whole product lifecycle. By means of computer technology as the foundation to provide optimal management in combining the information management technology and enterprise management. PDM system can realize the process of product lifecycle management, enable enterprises increase productivity and market competitiveness rapidly, ensure product quality in the design and optimization at the same time shorten the development cycle and reduce production costs. This article comprehensive analyzes function module, framework structure and technical implementation details of PDM system.This article describes the generation of PDM systems and trends, summarizes the current status of PDM system, proposes the shortcomings in PDM system function models and characteristics. Defined the PDM system's importance of production in enterprises. On the basis of this study proposed the purpose and the main content. This paper also analyzes the key technical PDM system implementation, combined with characteristics of business operations demands to submit to the concept of component-level division, from the system level, support level, application level and interaction level PDM system integration were proposed program. Described the functional description of main modules and some modules of the operating principle in PDM system. From the basic support data management, product data management, system operation control module design the three aspects of the program and the specific data storage structure. Finally, development of the PDM system as an example to explain the process of system operation and the corresponding data processing, interactive graphical user interface to show main functions of PDM systems.In this paper, it conducted in depth research on the main framework structure , system integration , development of functional components in PDM system , it has done lots of meaningful work to develop this PDM of the project. The product has been applied in the enterprise.
