The Design And Implementation Of Software Project Development Process Management System Based On Multimodality

With the development of software companies (organization), there are more and more systems should be maintained and developed, and the complexity and cost of development process become more and more expensive. So it has become the most important topics for project managers to improve the control and fairness of the software projects development; how to assign tasks more reasonably; how to make and detect the schedule more accurately; how to safeguard and maintain the project quality; how to predict and avoid risk; how to control and reduce the cost; and how to examine the performance open and fair, etc. Therefore, it is very necessary to design and achieve a development process management system to satisfy the requirements of project development manager. We can collect data of different modes during the development by using this system, provide correct data and ensure the schedule, the quality of the project, and provide valuable data for reference for the future projects.We can find various defects through the investigation of project development process management software, so that it is difficult to satisfy the demands of our company. So we studied the advantages of different management software and combine with the actual situation of our company as well as refer to the experiences in project management, we design a software project process management system that may meet the actual needs. We can collect everyone’s data in everyday into database by project plan, time cost, quality evaluation and QA through the various data collected during the software project development process, and the system can provide easy interface and bulk import function to reduce the workload of project data collection. Team members can query their own development tasks, track the review results and bugs of the project development. And manager can get access to all kinds of data in the process of development, provide data support for the project decision and risk control. At the same time, it can take out the accumulated data of periodic report and generate daily report, weekly report, monthly report and etc.This paper mainly designed and developed a multimodal software project process management system, and this system adopts the technology of web (Web system solution using ROR framework), and combine with the Excel macro, AIR multimodal architecture. Macro makes the traditional way of project management proceed, and the model Excel file was applying in the task decomposition and distribution, quality inspection, QA management, etc. These files can import the lots of data of project management saved in files into the database as the client of Web system. It can make the systems easy-to-use maintained. Web system is good at complex data combination query and simple data entry. After the data of document is imported into the database, we can query and look through the simple statements through the Web system. The project members also write the working hours and logs according to the tasks. The working hours and logs collected by Web system can generate the daily report, weekly report and the monthly report can be generated by using Excel macro. Using AIR technology, it may implement the desktop new client. When members are assigned by new tasks or get new bug to modify, the project members would receive a message from the client tool to learn the new tasks and the bug needed to be solved.This system can improve the level of normative real-time and efficient management, at the mean time it realized the share and accumulation of data management and safeguard the integrity, the uniformities, the automation, the visualization and the maintainability of the data, which can improve the explicit, unification, automation and the visualization of the project management activities.
