Highway tunnel monitoring system is not only the key for ensuring vehicles to travel "high-speed, safety, comfort" in tunnel, but also an important means for improving the tunnel operation efficiency. The high efficient and reliable monitoring system can coordinate and control all kinds of mechanical equipments in the tunnel to make their full display functions, so it can improve the bad operation environment in the tunnel and reach the level which is to adapt to other sections of the whole highway.Taking a tunnel group monitoring system project for the background, this paper analyses the functions of the highway tunnel monitoring system, including traffic monitoring subsystem, fire auto-alarm subsystem, closed-circuit television monitoring subsystem, ventilation, lighting control subsystem, etc. Then it summarizes information transmission characteristics of the monitoring system and sets the network construction requirements.Refer to the information transmission characteristics of the tunnel monitoring system, this paper has studied the industrial Ethernet technology and Ethernet/IP communication protocol based on the standard Ethernet from their reliability stability and real-time, and then apply it into the tunnel group monitoring system.This Paper puts emphasis on the design of the control network of tunnel monitoring, according to the function structure of tunnel group monitoring system it can be divided into information level, control level and equipment level. In the information level, it uses the Industrial Ethernet to realize data exchange between various equipments, as well as the communication between the tunnel administer station and tunnel monitoring room; simultaneously, in the tunnel between the regional controller and principal controller constitute the 100M reserve fiber backbone ring net, and the controllers realizes the communications with each other by the Ethernet/IP protocol.According to the different regional distribution of tunnels in the tunnel group, it can be divided into seven independent control subsystems. Every independent control subsystem has disposed the master regional controller, area controller; serial server and Industrial Ethernet switch in order to integrate devices which belong to different systems to a network. It designs network structure which is suitable for the tunnel's site, and then it takes the corresponding network redundancy mechanism to ensure reliable and stable operation of the monitoring system. After the completion of network hardware platform, it sets up the Industrial Ethernet Switch, the PLC and EIP module, serial server. Then achieve to keep the reliable and steady operation of the control network.In the end the paper designs a process about the detection and treatment of the fire alarm, traffic anomaly. Then refer to comprehensive considering various factors of actual process about the tunnel monitoring, this thesis also designs the process of testing and monitoring the tunnel abnormal events.At present the tunnel group monitoring system has been put into operation. Responsibility of monitoring system control network and instantaneity of information transmission are good, which has proved the design of the network solution's feasible. This paper has both theory worth and practice worh to research and apply the control network of tunnel group monitoring system.
