Industrial Ethernet with its characreristics of low cost, high transmission rate, and good openness, has been more and more widely used in the field of industrial control. The topology of the network of industrial Ethernet is traditionally based on spanning tree protocol constructs to deal the network structure changes. The reason of the brittle failure of the spanning tree protocol leads to reconstruct/network structure recovery slowly. Therefore, it often difficult to adapt to high reliability requirements of industrial application, such as the nuclear power, power grids, transportation and so on.This paper designed two new ring network redundancy technology, multi-manager ring network redundancy technology and interconnection ring network redundancy technology, based on the analysis of the redundancy protocol(media redundancy protocol), which can make the rapid detection and recovery of network failure. The software implemention and functional test of this two redundancy technology based on industrial Ethernet switches were completed. In this paper, the main research content includes:1. Designed the multi-manager ring network redundancy technology to solve risk concentration problem of single manager redundancy protocol. Priority election algorithm designed as a redundant multi-manager scheduling mechanism of the ring network. Protocol frames was designed for implementing the priority eletion algorithm. And state machine of multi-manager ring network redundancy technology was designed as well. Election time to manager and network failure recovery time of multi-manager ring network redundancy technology were calculated and analyzed.2. Designed interconnection ring network redundancy technology to use of interconnecting communications between ring networks. This paper completed the design work of nework topology, protocol frame format and type of interconnection ring network redundancy technology. Furthe, made a detail description of the manager/client work mode and state machine of interconnection ring network redundancy technology. Finally, this paper deduced the network failure recovery time formula of interconnection ring network redundancy technology.3. Completed software programming of the two ring network redundancy method based on software development kit published by a foreign company. Progamming the basic functions of TL-SG3210 switch platform based on the VxWorks operating system. And the functional testing of ring redundancy technology software program was made based on this hardware platform.
