As Chinese people's living standard upturns and life style improves, catering industry in China has been developing, and Food and Beverage enterprises' chain-orientation has been working up, which is making these enterprises upsizing and collectivize. However, group management problems are arising, and the operation of food and beverage enterprises will be exposed to risks if these problems are not solved. Meanwhile, information-based platform will be a useful management tool used by the owners and managers in order to accomplish the operation objectives.Based on the analysis of development status of catering management system, this paper discusses the informationization of catering group management detailedly, and designs the framework and the module of catering management system which functions are improved relative to the initial editions. At the same time, it formulates the powerful functions of catering management analysis instrument with the aim of providing abundant database for decision-making. Finally, applying the designed model and the constructed hardware platform, it accomplishes the overall design of catering management system that is high-efficient and practical.Test outcomes prove that the owners and the managers of food and beverage enterprises will be able to show their greater executive ability by use of catering management system. Through the utilization of informationization, individual business segment in the catering group can be connected to make business and information integrated and shared. This application of e-commerce economic platform based on Internet enables the catering chain enterprises to change in accordance with market demands, to control costs, and to improve material management, aiming to obtain long-lasting competitive advantages and effective use of resources, which is significant to the sustainable and rapid development of catering chain enterprises.Group catering management system is a complicated system. This paper focuses on the some examples system, and then continues to discuss the system and other related modules and functions. What's more, as the improvement of information technology and the perfection of catering management expertise, the system will further develop in making reservations on the Internet, front-end operation system selection, and other business as well.
