Monopulse tracking radar is one of the most widely used tracking radar, whose sum-difference beam measuring angle has high resolution of measuring angle. The error information of the targets can be obtained in a very short time. Monopulse tracking radar is most widely used because of its best performance in measuring range, velocity and angle.On the ground of some monopulse tracking radar signal processing system, the dissertation first presents the principle of range, velocity and angle measurement and track of monopulse tracking radar. Secondly, the linear filters which are the basis of radar data processing ,such as kalman filter, are given in this paper based on the above discussion. The paper go into particulars the process of Kalman filter and give the block diagram of the recursive algorithm. The attentive points are also discussed in brief. Finally, simulation of the external field test data is carried out and the results verify the efficiency of the monopulse tracking radar and the theory of Kalman filter. The simulation results show that the performance of the tracking radar is perfect and the Kalman filter is useful when the target changes uniformity.
