The bistatic radar based on opportunity illuminator is a new radar system. Not radiating electromagnetic wave and using other outer electromagnetic wave to detect objects, this radar is not easy to be detected by electronic scouting system, and it has abilities of ECCM (Electronic Counter-Countermeasure), AARM(Anti Anti-Radiation Missile) and anti-stealthy targets. In this system radar, the very strong direct arrival wave and multi-path signal of the receiver device, as its character, will affect the detection of object very badly, and this character will reduce the detection probability of object and increase the probability of false alarm.The thesis studies the data processing part of a bistatic radar system which uses a non-co-operative television transmitter as the illuminator. The pulse signal of the television signal and the correlation of the signals in adjacent line periods cause many nearly equal ambiguity peak values, so we can't effectively measure the distance. In this thesis, a scheme is developed that the airborne target to be detected and tracked using the Doppler shift and bearing of target echoes to estimate the Cartesian co-ordinates and velocity of the target. Firstly, we give the data processing flow chart of the radar. Secondly, we analyze and discuss the major parts of data processing in detail, the parts include the forming and refreshing of the clutter data, the initiation of the track, the association between the point and the track, the filter of the track, the patch and disappearance of the track and so on, of which the filter of the track is critical, we use Kalman Filter and Extended Kalman Filter. Finally, simulation results show that the movement track of the target is estimated accurately, so it proves that the method in this thesis is effective.
