During the running process of the system of ground radar, the real targets are usually submerged in the background full of clutters and noises because of the complicated and changeable surface environment, which put forward stricter requirements on radar data processing technology to remove clutters, restrain noises and achieve real-time and accurate processing results of the data measured by radar.In this paper, the data processing algorithm have been made a systematic study according to the characteristics of ground radar. Firstly, this paper studies the estimation and filtering methods in radar data processing, and gives simulation and verification of the Kalman filter algorithm through the software of Matlab. Secondly, the function of each module in the process of ground radar data processing is discussed, especially the key problems such as track initiation, tracking filter and point track interconnection and so on. The specific implementation schemes have been given to solve these problems. Among them, the logic method based on m/n criterion is adopted to realize track initiation, Kalman filter algorithm is adopted to realize tracking filter, the nearest neighbor algorithm is adopted to realize point track interconnection. Thirdly, the whole process of ground radar data processing is implemented in the Matlab environment. Finally, this process is reappeared by C language under the development environment of Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 because of the radar data processing algorithms integrated into the terminal control interface in Windows platform.Although the simulation environment is full of spurious points except several moving targets in this paper, the trace point information of real targets from simulated input data can be extracted to form the stable tracks in both Matlab and Microsoft Visual Studio 2010. Thus, the ground radar data processing algorithm of this paper is effective.
