Research On Diagnose And Countermeasures Of Personalized Information Service About College Library In Jiangxi Province

In the network environment teachers and students need more and more diversification, individuation and professional information. At the same time, the traditional service mode of academic library is more hardly to satisfy this kind demand of the users' information need. Under this background, individualized information service emerges with the tide of the times. Personalized information service(PIS) is a kind of service that not only need academic libraries offer information service according to user'requirements of Personalized specifically, but also find potential demand and actively offer may need service through the analysis the particular need of user, including information usage behavior, habit, hobby, characteristics and some special information demanding.The paper uses literature survey, site inspection, questions survey, contrastive analysis and statistics. First use literature survey to systematically study the basic theory of PIS, including its background, development history at home and abroad, concept, characteristics, modes and necessary and value of academic library PIS. Then analyze the current status of library PIS of six universities in Jiangxi province based on site inspection, the author further survey how the staff of these six college libraries understand PIS and the personalized information service demand of users by the questions. After all of these, summarize shortcomings of these six college libraries'PIS in Jiangxi province from three aspects of librarians,users and library management. And in the light of these problems, put forward some countermeasures to improve the level of PIS so as to provide some references for university library's developing the individualized information service.
